“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.” (Psalm 122:1) Like many of you, I have attended church services my entire life. Some of that time, I have genuinely looked forward to being in worship services.....there was no where else I would have rather been. Other times, I just went because of the “drug” problems in my life. You know.....momma and daddy “drug me”, Angie “drug me”, or I even “drug myself”. I think I can honestly say that the Fairfield Church of Christ has very few “drug problems”, at least from my observation. I continually have members and visitors alike telling me how much they look forward to Sundays and Wednesdays. It is such a blessing to be part of a church body that is excited about the Lord’s work. If you have never been a part of such a family, you have missed out on one of life’s greatest joys.

It seems that we are adding new family members almost weekly! This coming Sunday we will announce yet another family who wants to be identified with the congregation here. 2007 is shaping up to be a banner year with our continued growth in attendance and contribution. One new member recently pointed out to me that they have “never in their life been a part of such a friendly and loving congregation!” It is truly a shame that there are Christian people in the world who have no “joy in their journey”. Christian folks should be the happiest individuals in the land! If you are reading this and find yourself in a “joyless journey”, stop in and see us sometime. When you leave you will find that your frown has been turned upside down!

This coming weekend will mark the beginning of the “picture taking” for our new directory. This will truly be a blessing to have in addition to our new Fairfield Yellow Pages. Let me take this chance to thank Mary Copley and Lori Cochran for spear-heading both of these projects. These two ladies have gone above and beyond the call of duty and have truly gone “the extra mile”.

I am so excited about the future of this Church. New Elders. New Members. New Excitement. New Vision. We always have room for more. What about you?
