Title: We love Fairfield!

My oh my.....where has this year gone? If your lives are anything like ours, the days just seem to all start running together with no real slow down in sight. As we try to catch our breath, we as a family want to take this opportunity once again to express our gratitude to you for allowing us to be a part of the Fairfield family for yet another year. At the risk of sounding redundant, we just want you to know how much we love each and every one of you and how blessed we feel to call you our friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. It's hard to believe that we have just begun our 4th year of work with this wonderful congregation of God's people. It seemed such a daunting task back in December of 2005 to think of having to learn everyone's name, family members and so forth.....but that only now seems a problem of long ago. Angie, the kids, and I feel like we have come to know you so well. You have become such a big part of our lives and encourage us more than you will ever know. We can honestly say that we look forward to each opportunity that we have to spend with you. It would be so difficult to imagine life outside of the Fairfield Church of Christ, and if it's the Lord's Will, perhaps we won't have to for a very long time.

I would be amiss if I did not mention how much I appreciate the elders of the Church of Christ at Fairfield.....Wayne Baker, Mike Batts, Wallace Smith, Lafayette Spears and Marvin Truett. These five men have been a pleasure to work with over the last year and I look forward to continuing that relationship in the future. These fine Shepards lead this productive church in a careful and prayerful way.....all with the same zeal, drive and love for the Lord and His people. Let us never bow our heads in prayer where we don't petition God on behalf of these men with such great responsibility.

To say that this was a year of growth in the Fairfield Church of Christ would be an understatement. This past Sunday, we had 320 in attendance, and over $5200 given to the Lord's work. Exactly a year ago we were hovering around 270 and $4000 respectively. We have been so blessed this year to have a number of new families come our way and settle in here with us. If you happen to be one of those families, we want to tell you how glad we are to have you here and how much we love you. We are so very excited about the possibilities the new year will bring for our work together in the Lord's Kingdom. 2009 promises to be a year of new programs, special events (60th Anniversary for one), and ministry opportunities......(there may even be a bunch of block and metal going up soon....but we will talk about that one more later :) Needless to say, we need all hands on deck! I hope you are as excited as we are about the days ahead....get rested....the work is about to begin. May God bless you and your family during this holiday season. Go the extra mile.
